Vote411.org Voters’ Guide for Tulsa County Elections on Apr. 6
League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa has created an online Voters’ Guide for the Apr. 6 Tulsa County Elections

Tulsa County – The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa has assembled an online Voters’ Guide about the candidates running in the Apr. 6 Board of Education and Municipal General Elections.

Races include:

  • Tulsa Public Schools Board Member Office No. 3
  • Berryhill Public Schools Board Member Office No. 1
  • Owasso Public Schools Board Member Office No. 1
  • Sand Springs Public Schools Board Member Office No. 1
  • Sperry Public Schools Board Member Office No. 1
  • Tulsa Technology Center Board Member Office No. 6
  • Union Public Schools Board Member Office No. 1
  • Broken Arrow City Council Member Ward Nos. 1 & 2
  • Glenpool City Council Member Ward No. 2
  • Jenks City Council Member Ward No. 4 & Member at Large
  • Skiatook City Council Member Ward Nos. 2 & 5
  • Liberty Public Schools Proposition No. 1
  • City of Bixby Propositions Nos. 1-4

The online Voters’ Guide allows voters to see which candidates will be on their ballot and compare the candidates running for each office. An online version of the Voters’ Guide is currently available at http://www.vote411.org/.

In compiling the Voters’ Guide, the League invited all candidates who have filed for vacant positions and face a challenger in the primary election. The League does not edit or change any responses from candidates, including spelling and grammar. The Voters’ Guide is voluntary so candidates can choose whether they wish to participate.

“If nothing else, the pandemic has shown us the importance of who our elected officials are, the critical decisions they make, and the impact of those decisions on our lives,” said Lynn Staggs, president, League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa. “Vote411.org gives voters the information they need before heading to the polling booth.”

Important dates to note

  • Deadline to request absentee ballot: 5 p.m., Mar. 30
  • Early voting: Thurs., Apr. 1, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Fri., Apr. 2, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Tulsa County Election Board

The League’s mission is to “encourage informed and active participation in government works, to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy.”  The League strives to provide useful non-partisan tools for the voters to use to learn about the candidates running for office. The Voters’ Guide is one way the League fulfills this mission.
