The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa is excited to announce a community chat/question and answer session with the Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools, Dr. Deborah Gist.
National Voter Registration Day 2021
This nonpartisan civic holiday was first celebrated in 2012, and it’s the largest single-day voter registration drive in the country. Sadly, as many as 1 in 4 Americans are not registered to vote. Since its inception, participants in National Voter Registration Day have registered nearly 4.5 million people, including 1.5 million in 2020 alone!
Call to Action: VRAA
In anticipation of the August 24 vote on the VRAA and in partnership with our partners, the League has identified certain House member targets who we want to put extra pressure on and encourage to vote yes on the bill. To this end, we have drafted a template letter we would love for the local leagues who reside in these representative districts to send to them.
Opportunity for Action
The Program Committee will be working on an update to the current LWVMT position on Public Trusts and is calling for interested parties to participate in this restudy.
