  • Name: Meredith McDaris
  • Day job: I am on the Customer Service and Marketing team at PSO (Talk to me about WindChoice!)
  • 3 words to describe you: Stubborn, Loyal, Funny
  • Why are you involved with the League: I believe in the power of civic engagement to make our communities better. The League fosters this process, and I’m honored to be a part of its work.
  • My favorite experience with LWV has been: Hearing from a woman the League’s annual meeting who had come out of the prison system as an advocate for civic engagement and voting rights. It inspired me to see voting not only as a privilege, but a responsibility.
  • On the weekend, you can find me: In my pajamas, testing a new recipe and binge watching silly TV shows with my husband.
  • Favorite vacation destination: Any place I’ve never been before.
  • Favorite Tulsa restaurant: Keo. No, Doc’s. No, Lucky’s! I love so many of Tulsa’s great local spots!
  • People would be surprised to know: I run an Etsy shop in my spare time. Also, I sang to Oprah once in a parking lot and she stopped and did a little dance.
  • Words to live by: Be kind.
  • If your day had 25 hours, what would you use the extra hour for: Sharing a meal with friends.
  • One item you can’t leave home without: Sadly, my phone.

  • Who is your hero: My grandmother – she was strong, witty, classy and kind to everyone she met.
  • Biggest pet peeve: Pessimism
  • What makes you laugh: My many funny friends – they are hilarious!
  • What should be taught in school that isn’t currently: Art and humanities – I was lucky enough to have both through my senior year, and they taught me how to think in different ways.
  • Favorite Tulsa activity: Trying all of the great local restaurants!
  • One word to describe Tulsa: Changing.
