Partisan politics have grown more contentious over the past few years. We seem to be witnessing a demonstrated decline in civil discourse and a marked rise of extremism. The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa is partnering with TYPROS 918 Vote to host a panel to discuss the value of returning to standards of politeness in public discussion.
Join us Sept. 20 at 6pm at 36°N (36 E Cameron St) to hear community leaders discuss what civil discourse looks like in today’s polarized society, the spread of disinformation, and a quick lesson on media literacy.
Current confirmed panel guests include:
- Regina Goodwin, OK State Representative
- Susan Savage, former Tulsa Mayor
- Rodger Randle, former Tulsa Mayor
- Jayme Fowler, Tulsa City Councilor – District 9
- Judith Barba Perez, TPS Board Member – District 2
Media Literacy section will be led by Nate Morris (Met Cares Foundation, Black Wall Street Times). Panel moderated by Wayne Greene.
