Who Can Vote?
Anyone who is at least 18 years old, a United States citizen and a resident of the State of Oklahoma.
Those who have been convicted of a felony will be able to vote again when pardoned or, if paroled, once the time of the original sentence has passed.
How to Register
Registering to vote in Oklahoma is simple: download this form, fill it out, and mail it in.
If you have moved to a new address, changed your name or want to change your political party, you must fill out a new voter registration form.
The voter application form asks for your name and address, your political affiliation, your birth date, your Oklahoma driverās license number or the last four numbers of your Social Security number if you do not have a driverās license. After signing and dating the oath, mail your completed form to the State Election Board. You will be registered after you receive your voter identification card in the mail.
Political Party Affiliation
When you register to vote, you can join a political party. A political party is a group of people who share the similar ideas about how the government should be run and what it should do. They work together to win elections.
In Oklahoma, one may register as a Democrat, an Independent or a Republican. One may also choose not to join a party and select the āNo Partyā option. However, because Oklahoma has a closed primary system, meaning you may vote only in the primary for the party in which you are registered, registering as anything but a Democrat or Republican means you may not be able to vote at all in some primary elections. All registered voters may vote in general elections.
