NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR TULSA WOMEN WHO COULD BE PRESIDENT
League of Women Voters Seeking Nominees for August 26 Event

The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa is now accepting nominations for Tulsa women who “could be president.” The League will honor 10 women on August 26, 2025 at its Madam President event. 

Nominees must currently live in the Tulsa metro area and exhibit a commitment to leadership and community service. They may be of any age, residency status, or political affiliation. The 2024 event honored 10 local women, including: Rhonda Bear, Founder–She Brews Coffee and Transition Program; Alice Blue, Clinical Services Director–Take Control Initiative; Secretary Sheila Bowlin, Cherokee Nation Secretary of State; Eileen Bradshaw, President and CEO– Life Senior Services; Dr. Angela Hawkins, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology–SSM Health; Jennifer Jezek, President–Sovereign Stewardship; Carolina Morris, Director of Business Relations–Utica Park Clinic; Kari Shults, Vice President of Advancement and President–Tulsa Community College Foundation; and Karen Tilkin, Executive Director–CAP Tulsa.

There is a $50 filing fee to nominate someone. This fee includes the nominee’s reservation for Madam President on August 26.

Nominations can be made online at lwvmadampresident.com until June 6, 2025. 

A range of sponsorships and ticket options will be announced soon.

THE EVENT
Madam President will be held on August 26 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Honorees will be recognized for their contributions to the Tulsa community while guests enjoy dinner and cocktails. 

The event is being organized by Event Chair Olivia Martin, along with an event committee of volunteers: Krystal Grizzle, Shailaja Marion, Christine Po, Kerri Lee Robinson, and Courtney Rodebush.
