Meet the Board Member: Lindsay White

Shailaja Marion Blog Post

Want to know who makes the League special? We’ve started an initiative to feature our board members in a recurring blog series. Check back often to learn more about our league’s leadership and see why they think the League’s work is important!

What are three words that describe you?
Curious, loyal, determined

Why are you involved with the League?
Democracy is fragile, and information is power.

My favorite experience with the League has been:
Seeing the behind the scenes work of the staff, volunteers, and board. They are an inspiration, and make the important work of the League possible.

On the weekend, you can find me:
Spending time with family and dog, either at whatever park we can find or playing a board game together!

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I joined the Peace Corps after college and then spent my 20s living and working overseas. I got to travel quite a bit; I worked a contract in Antarctica during the summer and even got to visit North Korea.

What is one item you can’t leave home without?
Water. I don’t think that needs an explanation!

What is your favorite Tulsa activity?
The Philbrook, especially during the winter holidays with all of the lights.
