LWVMT 101

The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The LWVMT is set up with a Board of Trustees that meet monthly, as well as a number of committees that work to get things done. These committees include:

Voter Services Committee – front and center hosting candidate forums, voter registration events, and supporting Naturalization Ceremonies here in Tulsa County. [Interest Form]

Program Committee – connects members to specific topics that impact our state, city, education, and general welfare of our citizens. Informational forums and luncheons featuring key speakers are only a part of the work they oversee. [Interest Form]

Fund Development Committee – responsible for various aspects of raising funds for the league including, but not limited to, special events, grant requests, individual and corporate sponsorships, donations requests, etc. (This committee leads our annual fundraiser, Madam President, and we encourage individuals to help on the event committee for it!) [Interest Form]

Membership Committee – help make the membership experience for the League the best it can be by assisting in programs designed to help recruit, retain, and engage our membership. [Interest Form]
