The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The LWVMT is set up with a Board of Trustees that meet monthly, as well as a number of committees that work to get things done. These committees include:
Voter Services Committee – front and center hosting candidate forums, voter registration events, and supporting Naturalization Ceremonies here in Tulsa County. Current Candidate Forums Chair: Kathleen Kastelic; Voter Registration currently coordinated by LWVMT Administrative Director.
Program Committee – connects members to specific topics that impact our state, city, education, and general welfare of our citizens. Monthly meet-ups and luncheons featuring key speakers are only a part of the work they oversee. Be sure to check out this Welcome Letter from the 2018-2019 committee chair, Patti Mullen!
Membership Committee – works to help members connect to the LWVMT in meaninful ways along with coordinating outreach efforts. Current Chair: Mary Statton
Event Committee – host to Madam President, our annual fundraiser. It is our way of honoring women who have inspired us through their leadership.
