The League is sponsoring a primary candidate forum for the House District 71 special election from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Mon., Feb. 6 at Wright Elementary School, 1110 E. 45th Pl. The primary is Tues., Feb. 14. Two Democratic and five Republican candidates will be on the ballot.
HD71 encompasses Brookside, running from 21st Street to 81st Street between Lewis Avenue and the Arkansas River. The seat has been vacant since December when former State Rep. Dan Sullivan resigned to become Chief Executive Officer of the Grand River Dam Authority.
