A recent Tulsa World article cited a study released by the Pew Charitable Trusts. The study evaluated voter turnout in each state based on the 2012 election cycle statistics. Oklahoma ranks 49th in voter turnout and 46th in voter registration. Encouraging voters to exercise their right to vote is one of the fundamental missions of the League.
The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa will focus discussion on why this is the case in Oklahoma and will brainstorm ideas about what the League can do to influence better voter turnout. Four Tulsa World articles/editorials will serve as the basis for the discussion. We need your input!
