DESCRIPTION:Marilyn Artis, a fiber artist from Oklahoma City, is working on a large scale project called Her Flag.\nArtis is constructing an 18×26′ flag where each of the thirty six states who ratified the 19th Amendment will be represented. She is visiting each of the thirty six states and collaborating with a local female artist there to create a stripe that will represent her state.The local artist will publicly present the stripe representing her state to Artis, who will sew it onto the flag at each capital city.\nJoin the League of Women Voters of Oklahoma on January 18th for Oklahoma’s Her Flag event.\nThe Oklahoma History Center (800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr., OKC)\nwill host Oklahoma’s Her Flag event\nJanuary 18, 2020 from 2:30-4:00.\nHistorian, Dr. Sunu Kodumthara, poet Angie LaPaglia, and singer/songwriter Carter Sampson will accompany Marilyn while she sews.\n
