Public meetings July 16 – Aug. 13 on Tulsa’s capital improvements package

The City Council recently approved a draft of a $919 million capital improvement proposal.  The City Council and Mayor Dewey Bartlett will hold public meetings to discuss the proposed projects list.

Included on the proposed list is approximately $13 million to replace all five city park pools with new aquatic centers, $19 million to widen Riverside Drive, $8 million to construct a new lion and tiger exhibit at the Tulsa Zoo, and $10 million for major improvements to the Tulsa-City County Library’s downtown location.

Councilors also propose spending $15 million for a bus rapid transit system along Peoria Avenue, $4.2 million to implement the bicycle/pedestrian master plan, $2.75 million to improve and expand the city’s animal shelter, and $5.5 million to improve and expand the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

Aug. 5: OU-Tulsa Schusterman Center Auditorium, 4502 E. 41st St. (Council Districts 4 and 9)

Aug. 6: Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford Ave. (Council Districts 1 and 3)

Aug. 13: Carbondale Assembly of God, 2135 W. 51st St. (Council District 2)
