League to Moderate “Coal Hard Truth” Forum, Tues. July 31

Sheila News

For years the League has worked to fight for clean air and protect the Clean Air Act.  Why is this important to Tulsa?

Tulsa metro area residents are suffering from poor air quality, especially during the hot summer months. Yet, clean air protections are being attacked in Congress.

Earlier this year, the EPA set an historic standard, regulating mercury and toxic air pollutants from power plants. This standard came after decades of delay, and sets strict limits on mercury and toxic emissions. This standard will save thousands of lives and help those with asthma and bronchitis breathe easier.

In Tulsa, it’s time to learn what we can do.

This forum, sponsored by the Oklahoma Sierra Club and Clean Energy Future OK, will be moderated by Tulsa League Vice-President Ron Wilkinson.

Date and time:  Tuesday, July 31, 2012, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Location: Tulsa Garden Center, 2435 South Peoria, Tulsa, OK
