Please join us at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012,at the Greenwood Cultural Center in Tulsa to honor long-time League member Nancy McDonald.
Rarely has a community volunteer been a part of so many worthy organizations as had Nancy McDonald. Her service to the Tulsa community has touched many lives in the areas of education, scouting and equality for the LGBT community.
Nancy was a leader in the voluntary integration of Tulsa Public Schools in the early 1970s, played an integral role in developing new safety policies after teh murder of three young Girl Scouts in 1977, and founded the Tulsa chapter of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). These are but a few of her significant accomplishments.
Nancy’s work to better the Tulsa community has been recognized by numerous organizations over the years including the National Conference for Christians and Jews, Sertoma, Tulsa Boys’ Home, Community Service Council, ACLU, American Red Cross, Magic Empire Council of Girl Scouts and Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry.
Nancy McDonald embodies the spirit of the Pathfinder Award.
Please consider supporting the Tulsa League and honoring Nancy McDonald at the highest level possible.
